Throughout the school year NLG hosts fundraisers to support local organizations that support the refugee community. This includes organizations like Nile Sisters and Alliance for African Assistance. Past fundraisers include selling 85 degrees and baklava.

Alliance for African Assistance is a resettlement organization in San Diego that works to help new refugee arrivals adjust to the new environment. During Refugee Awareness week, on Library Walk at UCSD, several students showed their support for the refugee community with social media posts #withrefugees. For this event there were also a number of posters showing statistics for refugee resettlement at the local and global level. NLG works to educate the community on 

Once a year NLG collaborates with Prospect to host a Global Forum at UCSD's Great Hall located in I-House. Past Global Forum topics include Climate Refugees and Challenges in Forced Migration. Prospect, UCSD's Journal of International Affairs, is dedicated to exploring the complex world, advancing positive discussion, and inspiring critical thought and constructive action.
